2-0 Victory, 14 Wins, 98 Goals, 3 games left

A tough game on Satuday but we still managed to pull off a 2-0 win. Lots of close goal attempts made the score quite low. There was some great passing and tackling. Corpus Christi had some great defence too!

This week Man of the match is to be handed out at training - a once off incentive to make training more competitive on performance (and also because we didn't have the trophy).

The next 3 games (and final 3 games) info have been advised:

30/07/2005 Kissing Point 6A 09:20 Auluba 2
06/08/2005 St Ives 6A 09:20 Montview 5
13/08/2005 Mt Colah 6B 09:20 Berry 2

Luke is Home and Ok, Sat - Montview 9:20am

Good news, Luke's attack of Appendicitis pain subsidied and the Doctor thinks it was viral not his Appendix.

We will see how he goes tomorrow - but looks like he'll be right to play.

Tonight's training was good. I got the boys to warm up, then play a game 3x3 in a very small space swapping goalies. They had lots of fun, got to do lots of throw in's and learn that space and accuracy counts. Then they got to play on the full field 3x3 with my enforced focus on running with the ball. It took a while and alot of rubbing in - but I think they got it. Then the 7B team had no coach so we had a got set of full teams and of course in 15 minutes we won 3 nil. I even got to train the 7B teams - and they learnt!

Saturday's game is against Corpus Christi Hawks 6A at 9:20am. I've just checked their past results and I think the best thing for this game is to put the boys in positions that they are least proficient at (if you understand what I'm saying).

Something I've forgotten to do is thank Conrad, Micheal J and Christian's dad for the referering they have done during the seasion! Thank You guys! It's a great help to me and the team. Also big thanks to Michelle and Kylie for managing everything!

Just want to finish off by saying that my goal is to make sure the kids have fun and want to come back next year! Teamwork and skills is a side product - and as they get older it all comes together.

I certainly do feel like the luckiest coach ever to be coaching all of your sons! they are each in their own FANTASTIC!

13th Game Win 5-2 - great finish

After such a long break - school holidays and a rained out game, it was a slow start to the game. A deflected clearing kick rebounded back into our own goal and we were behind 1-0. It took a while to get back into the game and then we got another goal. Wahroonga followed this with one of their own and at half time this left us in a 2-2 tie.

The second half again was proving hard to get near the goal, but the boys pushed ahead and got 3 great goals.

13 wins is a great record!

If anyone has a description of the 5-0 practice half game win after the game please post it as a comment to this (on the website from the link below - note - anonymous is fine, you don't need to login)

No Training Due to School Holidays, But Game this Saturday

Due to school holidays and knowing a few boys can't make it, plus the fact that it's going to be difficult for myself to make it, soccer training is cancelled this week.

There still is a game on this Saturday though :

9:20am Against Wahroonga 6B at Karuah 4.

Please let us know if there are any boys who cannot make it.
