New Game Statistics on Site.

I've managed to update the web site today with some informative statistics on each game. See below for a copy of the statistics. We have definitely moved up a division (playing some teams B's and now A's). This weekend Wahroonga W should be a challange for us! (Whatever W stands for!)

The link at the bottom of this email will take you to the website, and feel free to post comments (choose anonymous if you like). Thanks to Michelle for picking up my spelling mistakes (now fixed on site).

8th Game Win - 14-0

Another dominating win by the boys - 14-0. Played very early at our home ground! Getting up that early on a Saturday was a bit of a shock to me ;-)

The score really didn't reflect the game. There was lots of great in air goals, and few good passes and some good defence. Christian had a quiet time in goals first half!

I've now completed my accredited soccer coaching course (and to be sent my certificate via post) and have learned from it.

It's important to know that kids of the ages of 6-7 shouldn't really need to focus too much on drills or skills, but more on having fun, developing good and fair play, being an important member of the team and to develop a love for soccer that should get them coming back to it year after year. We have some talented players in our team - Soccer NSW will be watching them in the years to come for State representation.

Is the correct link for the website that has information about soccer camps during the school holidays. This would be a fantastic opportunity for the boys if any of you can arrange it. Please don't let the boys go to another other camps than this one (insurance purposes, plus income from camps gets put back into the game).

A reminder that we need to book a time for photos (Kylie - can you do this?) 21st or 22nd of June (Tuesday or Wednesday night) sometime from 5pm till 8:30pm. I haven't booked a time as yet.

A quick reminder about promptness to training. Can we try and make sure the boys arrive on time - as the last few weeks I've had only 2/3 boys to keep occupied before the rest turn up.

This weekend we are going to lose Michael DP (a family wedding), so I might see if I can pull in a player from 6B's to give us a reserve for the game.

This weekend's game is against Wahroonga 6W 10:10am at Karuah 2

July School Holidays Kids Coaching

I've noticed on the last page of the HHPS school newsletter has a Coerver Coaching advertisement for the July school holidays.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for our players to have a great time and lots of fun. If it's anything like the course I'm doing at the moment I would definitely recommend it - very professional, focused on getting the kids to have fun games and improve all skills used in soccer.

http://www.soccernsw.com.au/coerver/ is a link to their web site - including online registration.
Dates are 4th-7th July (week1) and 11-14th July (week2)

There are 2 phone numbers : 8814 4434 or 8814 4436 and sounds like these camps are run at several different locations.

Early next game - 8:30am at Montview

We have another early game - but it's local.

We have a kick-off time of 8:30am at Montview 5 this weekend against St Ives. Please make sure that you arrive around 8:00am.

St Ives have had 2 wins and 4 losses so far. The team we played last weekend beat them 9-0, 3 games ago.

I'm hopefully that from the coaching course that I'm currently studing for the kids are going to get so much more enjoyment out of the game.

I also want to thank Chris - Kye's dad for refereeing 1/2 a game last week! Without volunteer ref's I may get stuck with it and that changes my role as a coach. Thanks to Micheal J's dad too for ref'ing earlier in the year too! It'd be great if you could all help out in the area - it's actually quite a fun 20 minutes on a Saturday!

Team Photos

The club is organising team photos. This is to be done on on either 21st or 22nd of June (Tuesday or Wednesday night) sometime from 5pm till 8:30pm.

We can choose the date and time to do this.

Can I suggest 6:30pm on Tuesday 21st of June? If I don't get any replies I'll book this in tommorrow. I'll also mention this to all the parents at training this afternoon.

All money for photo's must be collected before the night. Photos are a great way of remember the year - much better than trophies.

Cost and sizes are:

Team Photo 6” x 10” $10.00

Individual Photo 6” x 8” $8.00

Package in Presentation Folder $15.00

I'm sure the photo taking process won't take long and should be fun.

Please remember to email me if 6:30pm on Tuesday 21st of June is a problem - otherwise I will book this tonight (otherwise we will miss our spot).

Another great win! 5-0

Our toughest game yet - and still a 5-0 win.

Micheal DP did a great job in goals in the second half, and all players improved greatly.

I attended day1 of a 2 day course run by the football federation of australia to become an accredited youth coach. First day was full on - we did the training and learned alot about making training fun and also playing the game. Next Sunday I am to be tested in a written and practice exams - so wish me luck!

Another Great Win - 8-0

A great game on Saturday! 8 nil win!

Congrats to Conrad for his goal. A fantastic goal by Ryan and the end.

Ryan scored man of the match for his great play!

Christian had another great game too. Kye played very well in the mid field.

Hopefully the weather will clear up for Thursday's practice - after missing it last week.

Still no word from KDSA on Game time/location

Dreadful weather today huh! No practice for obvious reasons.

I've just checked for the draw from KDSA website, but it's still not available as yet.

As soon as I see it, I'll post info and a map.

Regrading Details

I had some questions about regrading with a HHSC official and was told that we are in Division 2. This confused me a little, so I enquired more and this is the reply (very good reply indeed!)

At the beginning of the season, each club nominates which divisions they want their teams to be graded. KDSA then sorts them out evenly and the draw is issued. We nominated for divisions 2 (A team), 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 (F team). The teams do not necessarily know what division they are in because all of the games are displayed together - but there are divisions. The 6As have played against a couple of B teams - the A teams for those clubs are in Div 1.

Every 5 rounds, the teams are regraded to even out the games, so that teams play opponents of equal ability. The 6As will be moved up into Div 1 while the 6Cs, who have suffered big losses, will most likely move down to Div 7. It is not uncommon for a lower team to end up playing in a division higher than their, supposedly, stronger colleagues, especially in the under 6s and 7s. For instance, the D team may end up in a division above the C team if they perform better over the course of the year.

I thought it would be good if we all understood this - as we are about to face better competition.

5th Game Win - 8-0

Another Great game by the boys, and Kye deserved the man of the match for defensive talents and teamwork!

Last week's training paid off - teaching the boys about fullback positions, and more teamwork/passing. Ryan was another player in the game that did exceptionally well in this area.

Luke and Conrad are doing great jobs in the goal - and they both seem to enjoy it. Let me know if you think others players should get a run in goals - if not, why break it!

Ryan, Michael and Christian have been fantastic goal scorers!

This week they are regrading the teams, which means moving whole teams up and down the A - F grades. I think we will stay at the top.

Because of regrading, we won't find out where our Saturday game is until Thursday afternoon - so hopefully I'll have that info before training, otherwise we will have to do the phone ring around on Friday night to let everyone know.

See you at training tommorrow!

Next Game - Sat 7th May, 9:20 Carrington

Hey everyone, next game is this Saturday at :

Carington 1, versus Corpus Christi Hawks.

Training on Thursday looks good, and looks like the boys are going to learn about some different positions and roles on the field (other than goal scorers and goalie!).
