Tough 12th Game

After missing practice due to rain and having a slightly damp game, Berowra 6A could have been the ones to take the win.

Within the first few minutes, a stray kick back to the goalie put us behind 0-1.

It was a bit of a messy game - first half opposition goalie was very tall and talented - making attempts at goal very hard. We sneaked one in before half time.

Second half was a little better - lots of passing and shots at goal. We did have our share of risky moments, but the boys defense was unbreakable. Second goal in this half and a close game indeed.

This week the weather is predicted to be random showers all the way up to Saturday. We will need to check on the condition of the oval for this weeks practice and game, which is:

9:20am at Montview 5, Against Kissing Point 6B (who knows what they have playing like - I don't trust Kissing Point result from what the Manager of 6A told me).

Hope to see you all on Saturday!

11th Game Spectacular - 9-0 Win

An excellent game by all players. The opposition was very hard to crack at first, with the 1st goal not coming for the first 15mins.

Training is paying off! Lots of passing today, Throw In's where most improved - and I heard lots of calling between players.

Both Michael's did an excellent job in goals, and Michael James got man of the match for a great game on the field in the first half and a great second half in goals.

Ryan scored some amazing goals - As did Christian, Kye ran the ball and scored too! Micheal DP had great ball skill and goals, Conrad did some great tackles and got another good goal, Luke again played a great mid half game.

It was a fun game to watch - The teamwork was fantastic! Well done boys!

10th Win 6-1

Still undefeated - Another win 6-1.

I tried to even the teams a little - by not coaching from the sideline. I asked each reserve to try to tell me what we were doing well, and what they could do better. Hopefully they started to think more about gameplay and positioning.

Christian started the game in goals, Ryan got a hat trick of goals, and Michael DP came through with a few goals too. Quite a few shots that missed.

Conrad went into goals in the second half, Christian was eager to score! Not too many goals this half and we let one slip in against us.

Overall it was a good game, all players defended well, ran to the ball and there was some passing. Ryan finished off with another in air goal, and man of the match went to Kye for a great midfield game.

10th Game - 9:20am Kickoff at Montview - Kissing Point 6A

A home game this weekend versus Kissing Point 6A with a kick-off of 9:20am. The field is no 5 which I think is the one we normally play on.

Kissing Point 6A have lost 17-0 to our last competitors Wahroonga W, and have had 2 wins, 1 draw, 5 loses (last game not posted).

Training today - I'll have some help due to the fact that I've strained a knee and cracked a rib after my last game Over 35's on Saturday.

9th Game Win 2-1. Hardest game yet!

We knew it was going to be a tough game. Wahroonga W had some good wins during the season and we were down one of our best players - Michael DP.

The game started off with a few attempts at our goal and followed by a few of our own. Wahroonga were doing some great passing and chasing. We were doing some good tackling and clearing. Then just before half time Wahroonga ran one towards our goal and a great shot got past our keeper. Kye had a great half in goal otherwise. Michael J, Ryan, Luke, Conrad were all kept very busy and played well.

In the second half we Christian had quite a few attempts at goal (after he worked out what way were running ;-)) Conrad was very keen to score and had a few shots too. Ryan was doing a great job being everywhere - especially a defender. Michael J had some great moves and Luke was holding his own in the goal. Then Christian had his chance and shot past the keeper! So it was a draw and we still had enough time to get another.

Quite a few attempts at goal, but no luck, then a mucked up goal kick by the opponents and Christian ran onto it and got our second goal in.

A very hard game, and the boys never got a break. Well played. Next training I'll get some throw-in practice and more on the teamwork with passing.

Congratulations to Christian for a well earned man of the match.

So far undefeated, and from what I can see - I think the only team in Under 6's to be this way.
